Has taken over the role of being the major Star Wars MMORPG from SOE’s Star Wars Galaxies in the last few years. With the arrival of the new generation of Star Wars movies from Disney, along with loads of other Star Wars related releases, like the upcoming TV show Rogue One and the online/offline shooter Star Wars Battle front, one begins to wonder whether SWTOR will remain the only true Star Wars MMORPG around or there is something bigger heading our way.

Many of you must have heard the rumors of an SWTOR sequel but they seemed like fact less gossips, and it is more likely that a KoTOR sequel is planned to be developed. With the continuation of the original Star Wars storyline, it seems possible that an MMORPG might be eventually created set around The Force Awakens timeline or not far from it. Could it be a working idea? Sure, you still got the two opposings ides to become choosable factions in an MMORPG and Jedi still remain present, along with the Knights of Ren and other possible Sith-like figures. SWTOR is a game that attracted me initially, but by now, I only play it roughly once a year when there is no other game to provide sufficient entertainment. The previous servers have been merged all over the place and yet they do not seem as active as they used to be.

The latest updates with the complex story -telling quest line seemed relatively entertaining, but the contents till fails to gain my full attention, especially the end game. Warzones are clearly dominated by premades and macro-users and I am not fully satisfied with the arm or looks either. I am sure there are at least a few of you who agree with me on this, and it is starting to feel like it is about time a brand new Star Wars MMORPG is made. Personally, I would say that for a working Star Wars MMORPG, the ideal era would either be around the Clone Warsor after the Return of the Jedi. I truly mourn the loss of Coruscant in The Force Awakens, which was one of my favorite planets and I am not entirely pleased about the newly added ones such as Jakku, which is basically identical to Tatooine. I also think that introducing an SWTOR 2 would not be the best of idea sunless it would get a completely new engine and a whole new approach to PvP and combat. Disney must have already realized the potential of another Star Wars MMORPG and I strongly believe that it is bound to arrive in the near future.

The only question that remains is whether EA and BioW are get to keep the rights to produce the new game, or will we get a completely new developer to create an epic Star Wars MMORPG that satisfies even the hard core fans.

Hello, and welcome to ultimate Player versus Player FAIL! In this first episode, we see that while possible, OS X was really not intended as a supported operating system.

Mac users and Star Wars fans, you might be in luck. The new MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic could be making its way to the Mac in the near future after developer Bioware hinted at the transition, claiming in an interview with Joqstiq that it would be “important” and that the Mac represents “a large audience.” The game, currently only available for Windows, allows players to join as members of the two main factions: the Galactic Republic or the Sith Empire.

Its rumored development cost is estimated at $130 million, which would make it one of the most expensive video games ever created. The only three Star Wars games currently available in the Mac App Store are Knights of the Old Republic, Empire At War and Jedi Knight Outcast, with two LEGO Star Wars games also available.
